El Platanillo coffee farm in San Marcos, Guatemala, has become the world’s first coffee farm to become Rainforest Alliance Verified™ for its compliance with the Climate Module of the Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN), the international coalition of conservation organizations that manages Rainforest Alliance certification.

UN Global Compact Week will convene practitioners who are engaged in the initiative’s working groups, issue platforms and Local Networks. The Week will feature the Global Compact Annual Meeting, the Annual Local Network Forum and a variety of issue-specific meetings. This global gathering of the most active companies and organizations is designed for working-level representatives to share experiences across issues and countries

20 years after the EARTH SUMMIT in Rio, the United Nations is organizing a new international conference on Sustainable Development.  The conference will take place in Brazil on 4-6 June 2012.

The United Nations released the "Guiding Principles for the Implementation of the UN Protect, Respect and Remedy Framework",

by UN Special Representative on business & human rights John Ruggie.

 The UN Human Rights Council will consider formal endorsement of the text at its June 2011 session.
